The Balcones Heights Police Department offers the Civilian Ride Along Program. This program is open to anyone who is at least 18 years of age. Balcones Heights Police Department House – Check Program: Are you going to be out of town for several days? If you will complete the Patrol By (vacation notification) form, we can provide extra patrol of your residence while you are gone. CAVEAT: Requesting a House - Check does not guarantee that a burglary or other crime will not occur at your residence, and it is only intended to be a request for the Balcones Heights Police Department to check your home periodically, based upon the availability of an officer. It is recommended that you make every effort to safeguard against losses including securing of high value property, using proper locking devices, alarm systems, etc. Attached is the Patrol By (vacation notification) form.
