UPDATE FROM THE CHIEF - Effective January 1, 2016, the Texas Concealed Handgun law will be changing. If you have gone through the licensing process to carry a concealed hand gun, beginning January 1, 2016, you will be able to openly carry the weapon in a belt or shoulder holster.
Opening night of the Balcones Heights 22nd Annual Jazz Festival at Wonderland of the Americas will be on Friday, July 10. We hope you will come enjoy wonderful smooth jazz music and visit the food vendors for some delicious and interesting foods. It’s a great way to spend a Friday evening!
The Fiscal Year 2015-16 Budget process is underway. The budget committee (Councilmembers Lamar Gillian, Linda Pohl) has met a number of times, including a current mid-year review.

Former Balcones Heights Mayor Lucille Wohlfarth passed away Friday, January 30 at the age of 94. Wohlfarth served as Mayor of Balcones Heights from 1992 through 2000 and as City Council Member from 1988 through 2000.

Free General Admission. Outdoor seating on the amphitheater lawn is free on a first-come, first-served basis. Typically jazz fans begin reserving their spots with blankets and lawn chairs the morning of each concert.
