The holiday season is here, and with it, the end of yet another year. As we celebrate the joy of the season, and remember the many highs and lows of the past year, we can also anticipate with optimism, all the opportunities the New Year will present to each and every one of us.
To all of you who live in Balcones Heights, operate businesses in our City, and work in our City, we wish each and every one of you all the best through the Thanksgiving and upcoming holiday season.
Balcones Heights City Council approved the FY 2016-17 budget on August 29, 2016. Revenues are $7.5M and expenses are $7.4M. Budget highlights include a tax rate cut, a capital replacement plan, and salary adjustments.
2016 National Night Out - Tuesday, October 4 from 6 - 9 p.m. This year we will feature the movie the Book of Life, starring Diego Luna, Zoe Saldana and Channing Tatum. We will be showing this movie on a large outdoor screen.
The citizens of Balcones Heights and all other surrounding cities and towns have always supported their first responders and this is evidenced by all of the well wishes we have all received. Copies of letters have been left on BHPD police cars, and citizens have stopped by the Justice Center to

On Thursday, May 12, The City of Balcones Heights welcomed Advance Auto Parts with a Grand Opening - Ribbon-Cutting Celebration. Advance Auto Parts Manager Mark Williams was presented with a plaque from Mayor Suzanne de Leon, City Council & Staff.
On Monday, April 25, Balcones Heights welcomed the Honorable Congressman Joaquin Castro to the regularly scheduled council meeting. Congressman Castro gave a Legislative Update as well as answered questions.
