Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) is collected for short-term rental stays of less than 30 consecutive days which includes Hotel/Motel stays, and residential rental units, i.e., house, condo, apartment and bedroom stays.
Online Reporting & Paying Service
In an effort to make things more convenient for HOT clients, the City of Balcones Heights contracted with Avenu to provide customers with an online system for reporting and paying taxes on a monthly basis.
Click on the link to register your account with Avenu. Using the online portal you will be able to process your reports and make payments. You can also choose to download the Hotel/Motel Tax Form and send a check to the address on the form. *Note: Hotel/Motel payments are not accepted at City Hall. All payments must be sent to Avenu.
