Mayor for a Day 2018 Monday January 22

St. Gregory the Great students participate in Balcones Heights Mayor for a Day 2018.
This activity was organized through the City of Balcones Heights and St. Gregory the Great Catholic School. Essays were submitted by St. Gregory students, grades 6-8, answering the question “What would you implement to make Balcones Heights an even better place to live, work and play?” The contest winners will serve as Honorary Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Administrator on Monday, January 22, 2018, by spending the afternoon meeting with city leaders and touring city facilities, including the Fire Department, Police Department, Dispatch, and Court Room. The winners will attend a pre-council meeting to review city business and will share the gavel with Mayor Suzanne de Leon, Mayor Pro Tem Jack Burton and City Administrator David Harris - co-presiding over the City Council meeting that evening at 6:00 p.m.
