The Community Relations function is housed within the City’s Department of Economic Development and Public Affairs.

This department is responsible for the City’s primary social media activities including the City’s official Facebook page and Twitter and Instagram accounts. The Community Relations Manager creates, updates, edits and removes web pages from the city’s website by reviewing departmental submissions and ensuring conformance to standards; Directs the preparation of and researches, writes and edits articles and public information material for presentation on the city’s website;  Participates in planning the design and content of the city’s website.

The Community Relations Manager coordinates and supports Community Relations activities including  National Night Out, the annual Blue Santa event, low-cost pet vaccinations, hazardous waste collections, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, and other community relations events, including volunteer recognition. Contact Community Relations Manager Chrissie Kolb for more information.

The annual Balcones Heights Jazz Festival is one of South Texas premier musical events. Produced each July and August, this event features top names in smooth and other jazz formats in a series of free concerts held at the Amphitheater at Wonderland of the Americas.
